Sunday September 28 was my "Baby Sprinkle!" For those not familiar with this fairly new trend; this is basically a scaled down version of a full-blown shower that is normally given to first time moms. Since we already have the big ticket items saved from our first child (crib, stroller, changing table, highchair etc) we only needed a "sprinkle" of things for this baby. Since this baby will be a boy, we needed clothes since everything we had saved was pink - and some nursery decorations suitable for a boy, diapers of course and some other small things like new washcloths and towels etc.
My mom planned the celebration and prepared everything -including cooking all the food herself! She handmade all the invitations as well. In the invitation it read:
Baby smiles and giggles galore
G and S are having one more
Big Sister Gigi has plenty to share
This is only a "sprinkle" to show that we care
Please join us to celebrate before Baby is due
They've got lots of pink, so think plenty of blue!
The cake was great - I love sweets though, so what cake isn't great!
It turned out great! We had lots of fun and were very fortunate to receive lots of useful and thoughtful gifts from our amazing family and friends.
What was really great was that some even bought Gigi a few gifts so she wouldn't feel left out. Of course she was excited over that!
It really was a great day and we were very grateful for all the generosity!
Thanks Mom for all your hard work. I'm especially thankful that my brother B was able to fly down and be here since he wasn't able to come to my shower when I was pregnant with Gigi. And as for big bro R, it's just nice to have him around any time!
