 Why "Homemade Happenings"?

This is just a simple place to share with everyone the things that happen in our home - Our Homemade Happenings!

Who is in our home?

I am a 31 year old stay at home mom to one beautiful and intelligent 6 year old little girl (known here as "Gigi") and an adorable, fun 2 year old boy (Known here as "little man").   I have a husband that I fall more in love with every day.

We are currently in our second official year of homeschooling.  We have recently settled into our "forever" home and are happy to be finally be able to get our roots grounded for our little family.

Homemade or store bought?

I hold a "simple is better" philosophy for life, but with a great love for modern conveniences.  It's a complicated relationship! Don't understand what I mean? Here are some examples:

I am currently striving to grow a small family organic herb and vegetable garden.  I am slowly learning about canning.  I love to sew and scrapbook.  I have breastfed both of my babies and cloth diapered one.  I believe in always trying natural, homeopathic approaches to medical needs first and we homeschool.

That being said... we love watching movies, I am addicted to the internet and my cell phone, I am always open to using modern medicines when home remedies are not successful, I do vaccinate my children and I probably could not live without some quick, microwaveable meals sitting in our freezer.

What can I say? I like to have the best of both worlds.
